The Gkiona
The voice of Giona is very melodic and you can hear it at night even in the cities.
It is mainly nourished with big insects. In winter few remain in Greece, most of them fly to central Africa.
It mainly lives in clumps of trees, gardens, old buildings, olive groves and builds his nests in cavities of trees or in holes of walls.
The Owl
The owl is a nocturnal bird, hardly seen in the mornings. .
It seats on the branches and stakes.
When funked it shakes its head.
It flies with an undulated way as the woodpecker. it is mainly nourished with small rodents.
Magpie (Pica pica)
It is a common coracoid that lives in the cultivated lands, urban parks and generally in open spaces with few trees. We often see it in small teams and in big concentrations the winter. its feather looks to be black from the distance, but it is actually blue with green nuances.
Sykofagos
It lives in tempered regions of Europe, Asia and northern Africa, while in winter they fly to tropical regions.
It is a medium size bird, with oblong body, approximately 22 - 25 cm. The adult male has as bright yellowish feather that contrast with the black wings and tail and his deep red beak.
It is a very active, but also a very shy bird. It sings melodically and sometimes includes whistling that resemble the flute and is often confused with that of blackbird.
